Sherman Oaks lost a beloved restaurant when Stanley’s closed in 2015 after a 32-year run on Ventura Boulevard. Locals can rejoice this week as owner Greg Sadofsky re-opens Stanley’s just south of the Boulevard in Fab’s former home, just one mile from the original location.

Greg wanted to keep Stanley’s local, saying, “We were at our original location on Ventura for over 30 years, and it only seems right to continue serving in an area we know and love.”

Greg assures loyal diners, “Much of the menu has not changed. Many of our signature dishes, such as the Chinese chicken salad and the rotisserie chicken, are returning. These dishes will be joined by a few new ones that we are also excited about.”

He described a “more modern look.” Now a powder blue façade gives way to art-lined walls, high-backed grey booths, aqua cushioned banquettes beneath textured wallpaper, and a welcoming bar.

The setting may be different, but Stanley’s regulars should still find plenty of nostalgia.
