Did you anticipate a time that every property would feature a virtual home tour?
“Since COVID-19 changed the way real estate agents conduct business, virtual tours that had been utilized before had to step up their game with how the information is presented. Virtual tours allow future homebuyers to explore each room completely and generally with 360-degree movement. Consumers can get a feel from almost every angle, and it shows them how they can move through the space easily. While we have resumed open houses, many buyers are more comfortable searching for properties online and via virtual tours.”
How are your clients using smart-home technology?
“Homes that are equipped with smart-home products including smart lighting, smart thermostats, home theaters and home security and safety products continue to have a leg up on the competition. It affects home values and the amount of time it takes to sell a home. Smart-home technology enhances homeownership and is a key factor for buyers as they look for their dream home. Today everyone relies on connectivity in everything we do, and that extends to our homes. We want to interact with our home even when we are not there. The convenience of preheating the oven from the car on the way home; turning on lights, heater or air conditioning; or starting the laundry before arriving home are all luxuries that buyers are looking for when purchasing a home.”
Speak about the flexibility required to be successful in this industry.
“Having a flexible schedule in real estate means being available and adjusting to clients’ needs. This industry lends itself to agents like me working on demand, all the time and when others are not. That includes weekends, after hours and generally at times when it’s not necessarily convenient for you personally. If a client calls, you need to be willing to drop everything and be attentive to their needs, even if it is a time that you normally would be spending with your friends and family. The benefit of my team structure is that someone is always available to assist our clients, allowing for greater flexibility—and that means everything!”
