Ring in the New Year at Michael Mina's Bourbon Steak Los Angeles at the Americana at Brand in Glendale. This elegant steakhouse is offering a choice of two seatings (5 p.m. and 8 p.m.) that include a six-course meal and live jazz. The second seating also features a champagne toast and a balloon drop at midnight ($105 to $165 per person). Among the seriously decadent selections: potato blini with salmon and caviar, lobster "louie," filet mignon and a chocolate soup dessert. 818-839-4930
Bow & Truss in North Hollywood is featuring a four-course dinner with Spanish flavor, including a glass of cava, for $50 per person. Among the choices are: tuna tartare, patatas, lentil salad, paella primavera, prime striploin, seared duck breast, swordfish and coconut rice pudding. 818-985-8787
North Hollywood's The Federal Bar has a party going on in the back lounge and the upstairs lounge, along with a four-course dinner menu and one alcoholic beverage or unlimited non-alcoholic drinks for $75 per person. The menu includes: pumpkin cream soup, Chilean sea bass, mushroom pate and blueberry peach cobbler. Chef Paul Shoemaker is offering a sophisticated, three-course winter truffle-tasting menu for $75 per person at Firefly in Studio City that includes: bone marrow ravioli, veal sweetbread fricassee, tuna tartare, diver scallops, Kobe NY steak and Maine lobster, black winter truffle risotto with Maine lobster, and black truffle cheesecake. 818-762-1833
Giardino in Westlake will offer a festive three-course Italian dinner courtesy of executive chef Francesco Pesce in a garden environment with truffle options and choices that include: burrata and beets, cuttlefish on polenta, oxtail ravioli, cannelloni pasta with chicken ragù, braised beef short ribs, grilled rack of lamb, panna cotta and warm chocolate fondue. $60 per person. 805-495-0053
The Local Peasant in Woodland Hills and Sherman Oaks will be party central with music, hats, noise makers, Champagne, TV countdown and, of course, good food and drinks. A special four-course menu will be offered along with limited regular menu items. The prix-fixe will include: raw oysters, poached pear salad, ribeye, butter-poached lobster tail (plus $13) and a flight of four panna cotta for dessert. $48 per person; $90 per couple. It's an all-inclusive New Year's Eve at Tony's Darts Away in Burbank with unlimited pours of California brews, "all-you-care-to-eat" pub food (including vegan choices) and a beer raffle. $75 per person with seating of groups up to 20 available. The Villa in Woodland Hills has a variety of options to bring in the New Year, including an à la carte first seating, a four-course second seating and VIP table with or without dinner, including Champagne or vodka for two to eight people, priced from $75 to $800.
