Campbell Hall is a coed private day school with 1,100 students enrolled in grades K-12.

Founded in 1944 as a parish elementary school, it moved to its current location a year later and became an independent Episcopal school, adding high school students in the ‘60s. Campbell Hall is both progressive and traditional, with a dynamic, research-based educational program that includes the use of an innovative block schedule. The school offers a wide range of competitive athletics; performing groups in theater, music and dance; a student newspaper, yearbook and other publications; speech and debate, mock trial and model United Nations; and a wide variety of student clubs. Applications for 2013-2014 begin in September.

"Campbell Hall GRADUATES ATTEND THE FINEST COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES IN THE NATION and across the globe.”

How does your school make our community a better place for children?

“We care deeply about all aspects of healthy childhood development, including intellectual, spiritual and moral formation. Campbell Hall is one of the few truly diverse communities in Los Angeles, bringing together students from different parts of the city and from different ethnic, religious and socioeconomic backgrounds. Our daily schedule is designed around brain research into healthy child development.”

What are the most important skills for people who want to work successfully with children?

“A sense of humor! And in this complex 21st century, educators need the courage to raise and wrestle with difficult questions in a respectful, safe and nurturing environment.  We want our students to graduate with a love of learning that lasts forever, a strong sense of self, and a deep resiliency to ensure they lead productive, successful, meaningful lives.”
