SUNNIE PAXSON an innovative contemporary jazz pianist, composer, producer best known for her driving performances and memorable melodies and jazz dancer extraordinaire RISA ARISUE have collaborated fusing their artistry that makes for a perfect sonic and visual journey.
SUNNIE PAXSON has toured with Stanley Clarke and shared the stage and or recorded with many jazz greats such as Doug Webb, Alphonse Mouzon, Justo Almario, Munyungo Jackson and Maysa to name a few. Her compositions and performances can be heard in feature films and television. Paxson achieved significant domestic and international success with her debut solo album, Groove Suite, which contained the feel-good singles “Do It (‘Til You’re Satisfied)” and “The Stroll” with special guest Larry Carlton. Jazz Week listed Sunnie amongst the top 100 Artists receiving the most spins during the peak run of Groove Suite and she was as voted one of Los Angeles’ Best Jazz Performers in Los Angeles Magazine. Her “Bohemian Sun” CD, released on legendary Stanley Clarke’s Roxboro Entertainment label and recorded with Stanley Clarke and Ronald Brunner, Jr is a show of her solid jazz roots.
RISA ARISUE is a brilliant Jazz Dancer and Choreographer known for her exquisite movements, choreography and interpretations. Hailing from Sapporo-shi, Hokkaido, Japan where she started dancing ballet and Jazz at the age of 11. In 2001 she moved to Los Angeles to become a professional dancer. She is a member of the Ken Dance Company and manager and teacher at Hama Dance Center here in Los Angeles. Risa also teaches dance for figure skaters and in the past has held classes at the Toyota Sports Center.
She participated in the Jazz Dance LA show from 2002-2008 and performed in the Lester Horton Dance Awards Show and performed in Frankie’s Gypsy Roses Show and the list goes on and on…………..
REMI NACHI is an award-winning Jazz Singer and recording artist from Tokyo Japan. She graduated from the Meiji University School of ARTS and Theater. Additionally, she studied music in London, England and New York.
She debuted from Avex in “AN-J” in 1999. As a member of The Voice Club, she has appeared at Tokyo-Manila Jazz & Arts Festival, Charito, Terumasa Hino, Kuriyama Coat, Nobuichi Noge to name a few. She starred in The Japan Jazz Vocal Jamboree. In 2013 she was the Winner of the 33rd Asakusa Jazz Contest Grand Prix! She performs regularly in Japan. For more info visit RemiNachi.com.
TAMARA DANIELSSON a native of Seattle, Washington, now resides in Orlando Florida. She began her formal training with Seattle’s legendary sax teacher, John Jesson and received numerous notable jazz awards in high school. She was awarded a scholarship to attend North Texas State University and won the lead alto spot in the award-winning Grammy-nominated “One O’clock Lab Band. She has shared the stage with such notables as Dizzy Gillespie, Pepper Adams, Randy Brecker and Lou Soloff. She holds a Masters Degree in Music from the University Of Central Florida.
As a soloist, her playing has been heard from the stages of Stockholm’s Fasching Jazz club, Italy’s Umbria Jazz Festival and South Africa’s International Music Fest, to South Florida Sun Fest. She is a member of Chuck Owen’s Surg Band and fronts her own band with Pianist/composer pair Daniellson. Tamara’s music can be heard on her solo CD “So It Goes.”
