A BIT ABOUT AARON AKINS….
Aaron Akins is an extraordinarily talented and dynamic performer and songwriter. He lists among his career highlights international appearances that include performing before the Pope at the Vatican and featuring at the North Sea Jazz Festival alongside Ray Charles, Eric Clapton and Al Jarreau.
In the Los Angeles area, Aaron has played at Vitello’s, the Mint, the Hotel Café, the Joint, King King, Hollywood Palladium, and others.
This is what Don Grigware of Broadwayworld.com had to say about Aaron Akins in his review of “Into the Cole”, Aaron’s celebration of Nat King Cole’s music:
“…I must note that Akins doesn’t copy but seems to have an uncanny ability to produce the same high-pitched vocal stylings of Nat King Cole. He doesn’t force it one single bit; it appears to flow out of him naturally; if you close your eyes, the similarity between the two men is remarkable.
…He sounds equally good in person and on disc, which is not always the case for many singers. But his charismatic, easy style just pours forth, making the experience one you won’t soon forget. Like Cole himself, Aaron Akins is unforgettable!”
